Probably the finest holographic portrait ever made. The beautiful model, her pupils expanded from waiting in the dark for the flash of the pulse laser, meets your gaze with that upward look so beloved of Princess Diana but, rather than blinking or looking away, you can stare right back and examine her from every angle. The brim of her fabulous hat almost pokes you in the eye in a provocatively holographic fashion and, if you stand up tall, you can look down at her through its transparent mesh. The rough leather of her jacket, whose collar she turns up as if to say " Are you man enough for me?" contrasts with the waxen smoothness of her skin, and her look is feminized again with the extravagant bling of her earrings and brooch. Very London, very 1980s. It was recorded by Boyd whilst a student at the Royal College of Art, slap bang in the middle of the Golden Era of the Holography Unit there.
