CURATING

Jonathan Ross has worked with museums and galleries to curate exhibitions of both fine art and applied holography. Drawing on his personal collection and obtaining loans from artists and companies working with holography, entertaining, instructive and extremely popular exhibitions have been created for schools, science centres and art galleries in Britain, Europe and the U.S.A.

COLLECTING HOLOGRAMS

Jonathan Ross acts as London representative for several of the artists in his collection and holds stock of their work available for purchase. His archive contains slides, catalogues and publications illustrating the work of artists using holography around the world. Jonathan Ross is happy to advise potential collectors and will accept commissions to source work for museums and private collections.

COMMERCIAL APPLICATIONS OF HOLOGRAPHY

Jonathan Ross has been involved with the commercial applications of holography since 1978. His production company SEE 3 was one of the first to introduce display holography to the UK and went on to pioneer the development of embossed holograms, supplying clients in the fields of security printing, advertising and promotions.

Now, as an independent consultant, his years of experience and international contacts allow him to advise potential users of holography on the most appropriate type of hologram for their application and to obtain competitive quotations for the job in hand.

For those who want to see examples of applied holography, the Jonathan Ross Hologram Collection contains hundreds of samples from dozens of companies, illustrating all the available techniques. Viewing by appointment.

An Invitation

The Jonathan Ross Hologram Collection website has been running for fifteen years so we decided it was time for a new look.

The new format has scope for lots more material so I would like to invite all the holographers whose work is featured here to submit background information, stories and images to supplement those I have provided. That way we can work together to make this the best resource on holographic imaging to be found on the web.

About the Collection

The Jonathan Ross Hologram Collection, based in London, UK, is one of the largest resources in the world for creative, display and commercial holography.

A number of touring exhibitions, containing work from the collection, have been presented in outstanding museums and galleries both within the UK and abroad. Information about new acquisitions and exhibitions is added here on a regular basis.
