The juxtaposition of a skull with multicolour flowers in this work always reminds me of Andy Warhol. It is a memento mori which celebrates life in the face of death, with the rainbow colours of the flowers contrasting vividly in a multi-channel animation with the pallor of the skull. Pizzanelli uses stereoscopic imaging techniques to render the skull 3-dimensional from two mono images.
